Formed by songwriter Galen Richmond alongside Kate Sullivan-Jones, Jeff Hamm, and Jason Unterreiner, Gum Parker emerged from a web of interconnected Portland bands that stretches across decades of Maine indie rock history. Richmond’s songwriting combines the nervous energy of 90s indie rock with an instinct for irresistible pop hooks, while the band’s collective chemistry transforms those songs into something simultaneously ragged and meticulously crafted. Their debut album The Brakes was released in 2025 on Richmond's label Repeating Cloud
