Certain Memories

𝘾𝙀𝙍𝙏𝘼𝙄𝙉 𝙈𝙀𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙎 is the first new material Assistant have recorded since signing with Subjangle; for the band it is a welcome chance to look to the future. But it wouldn't be an Assistant album if it didn't have half an eye on the rear-view mirror, and 𝘾𝙀𝙍𝙏𝘼𝙄𝙉 𝙈𝙀𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙎 is a warm, affectionate, melancholy meditation on memory, family and identity through a series of personal reflections that touch on the beauty and pain of getting older on the one hand and getting better on the other. In particular, listeners who have experienced the devastating impact of dementia in their family may relate. The album is dedicated to Jonathan's mum.
