wilder Thing
I Have My Mother's Eyes And I'm Not Giving Them Back
I’ve Have My Mother’s Eyes and I’m Not Giving Them Back (2024) marks Sterrs’ inaugural release with Maine indie label Repeating Cloud - Part anthology, part audio journal, My Mother’s Eyes presents an assortment of motifs and scenes including, but not limited to: a carnivorous flower garden; mysterious creatures beneath the bed; a corduroy laden world of pink and gold willow trees; and the messy, weird, lovely aspects of coming of age in the mid-2000s. It’s kitchen sink psychedelia, given a cohesive shape by Sterrs’ ear for arrangements and use of poetic constraints.
“wilder Thing is a space for me to be odd, loud, experimental,” Wes says. “A space for introspection through noise.”
