End of the Line
An energetic, yet melancholic song about a time in my life when I would take the train to commute and witnessed several people lie down on the train tracks to take their own life.
I'm still getting ready but the time has come
I wrote out this letter and taped it to the door
And if the day goes as I planned then everyone's still having fun
I hear the whistle like it's calling my name
Something keeps me coming back here
Leaving me for worse
Almost missed my train at the station
Just in time to ride
There is such a stark contrast between the scene and I
I was draped in darkness while this place was bathed in light
And if the day goes as I planned then everyone's still smiling
I hear the whistle like it's calling my name
Something keeps me coming back here
Leaving me for worse
Almost missed my train at the station
Just in time to ride
I'm waiting on the train for the last time
The rails begin to shake and it's hard to know
What my final thoughts will be when I hear them blare the horn
If there's a light at all, I hope it burns my eyes
One last sunset, pink and amber clouds
Will my final thoughts still be filled with such remorse?
Or will I finally let it go?
