La Mano de Cervantes
Segunda Mano
“Segunda Mano” is the second release from La Mano de Cervantes, a band-persona of uncertain origin.
Ten slices of straightforward power pop, unpretentious and direct, following in the footsteps of their debut, “De Primera Mano.” Drawing mainly from early R.E.M. and The Wedding Present, with touches of The Smiths and Suede, the band occasionally ventures further afield: exploring psychedelia (“Hyperion,” inspired by the work of the recently deceased Dan Simmons), electronics (“Botella de Champán”), and even paying tribute to El Último de la Fila in the song of the same name.
All delivered with a firmly underground ethos: self-produced and self-managed, with no grand plans beyond continuing to write songs. La Mano de Cervantes, music to simply enjoy.
