Eulogy for an American Dream
While building on his signature voice, David has gone further by incorporating elements of experimental and space ambient into the style mix. David has facets to his music that aren't common in the ambient world, which is refreshing and helps it stand out from the pack.
“This was a very different album for me, coming off of Changes, which just flew together. This one I had a PLAN for (sort of). I would make it more truly "ambient", though of course other things I do crept into it, which was ok. The subjects became as dark as this country, and the world, as we go through difficult and dark times. I think it probably came out as dark experimental ambient. But I did do four songs that are extremely abstract and dark, and four that are a bit less abstract and dark (and a bit more melodic), back and forth.
