Who are you and what do you do?

We're Wide-open Wendy & the Flaming Headers - four rockin' ladies with a need for speed and a love for loud, dirty rock 'n' roll. We were born in the wrong decade, but we're makin' up for it with grease, fire, and a whole lotta noise. In case that didn't explain what we do, we play dirty, oily, filthy rockabilly and we're singin' 'bout our youth (not lost, just behind us).

• Wendy - wailin' like a siren, tearin' up the streets/night
• Lou - slappin' that 4-string like she's tunin' up trouble
• Ceci (me) - beatin' the skins, keepin' the engine hot
• Sarah - 6-string screamin', throwin' sparks

Tell us about your music and how you got started

We've just recorded "Wild Ride" and have a whole mess of other rockin' tunes about the wild times we had way back when. Someone said, "Hell, why didn't we ever start that band?" So we did. Ceci put pen to paper, and just like that, we had our first song.

That was the spark. Since then, we've been tearin' it up in the backroom, crankin' out tunes an' makin' noise. So far, our only gigs have been for friends and family (the kids went nuts for it), but hey, you gotta start somewhere.
