Nachtwache is a dungeon synth project from Würzburg, Germany.

What's your musical origin story?

Messing around with DAWs for 20 years now, play bass guitar, drums and synthesizers.

What were the driving forces or pivotal moments that inspired you to pursue music?

Darkness, local medieval history, the power of mother nature.

How would you describe your style of music?

Blackened medieval lofi dungeon synth.

How is your personality reflected in your work?

The Nightwatcher stands for all the beauty that can be found in the darkness at night.

Describe your creative process when you write new music.

Ritualistic creation of weird sound.

Current Work

What is the name of your latest release?

Der Ritter mit der Eisenfaust.

What was the inspiration for that release?

A local knight called "Götz von Berlichingen" - an outlaw messing around in medieval Franconia.

What challenges or unexpected moments did you encounter during the writing/recording process?

It's a compilation of many unreleased tracks that I produced over the last 2 years. As mentioned, I produce my tracks in an almost ritualistic setting.

Promotion & Engagement

What strategies do you find most effective for promoting your music?

I have to figure that out. The DIY label Personal Uschi Records is releasing cassettes of my work and that helps a lot. Hope to get my digital releases out more with getmusic.

How do you engage with your fans?

Bandcamp, email, YouTube. I refuse to use Instagram and Facebook regardless of about 1500 followers there. And I stopped releasing on Spotify.

What upcoming promotional activities or releases are you most excited about?

'26 will be a year full of many crazy surprises :)
