How long have you been writing music?
About 20 years.
What inspired you to start playing and making music?
Friends, playing in a band as a youngster, hearing certain bands and the way they played.
What were the driving forces or pivotal moments that inspired you to pursue music?
Discovering music from bands like Modest mouse, Pixies, Dillinger escape plan, Jesus lizard, Oxbow, Chatpile, Squid. Figuring out that you can make anything you absolutely want and there are no barriers.
How would you describe your style of music?
Heavy, noisy, sludgy, fuzzy, sometimes catchy. Maybe overwhelming is better. I don't really know. A lot of my songs don't necessarily sound similar but have a similarity, if that makes sense. My recording capabilities aren't of the greatest quality, kind of like MySpace days.
How is your personality reflected in your work?
Through bad times.
Describe your creative process when you write new music.
Find a riff. Get a drum session going first. Then build off of that. Improvise.
What is the name of your latest release?
Anxiety is a Man's Best Friend
What was the inspiration for that release?
Multiple things. Death around me. Mental health.
What challenges or unexpected moments did you encounter during the writing/recording process?
Recording drums with one microphone - yay, lol.
What strategies do you find most effective for promoting your music?
This site!!! Haha, thank you so much, and Bandcamp too.
How do you engage with your fans online and offline?
When I have more fans, I'll be able to send out more emails when I release new music!
