Get Away
On November 15, 2024, Hamburg-based musician Matthias Schwettmann, known as Would and frontman of indie band Palila, will release his second solo album Get Away via DevilDuck Records. Following his well-received debut in spring, Get Away presents a more cohesive and melancholic sound, shaped by Schwettmann’s personal songwriting and home-studio production.
The album features standout tracks like The Beginning and Mysterious Ordinary Man, which will also appear in a more powerful indie rock version on Palila’s next album. Influences range from Neil Young and Wilco to Kristofer Åström, Elliott Smith, and Teenage Fanclub, blending heartfelt songwriting with raw authenticity.
