Travis deals with an ongoing spinal injury that has been largely untreated and without disability benefits for over six years. Additionally, he has had to deal with severe water damage in his home and other debilitating factors.

Johnson runs the Frolic Press label and creates sound art under the project name datewithdeath. He has been active since the '90s.
