Third Platform

Found between static and silence

Found Between Static and Silence is the debut album by Third Platform, the collaboration between English producer James Holloway and Canadian composer Liam Desrosiers.
Built around the meeting point of experimental drum & bass, modern jazz and cinematic sound design, the album unfolds through eight long-form instrumental compositions that evolve rather than repeat. Live breakbeats, Rhodes piano, upright bass, analog synthesizers, tape machines and field recordings are layered into slowly shifting environments where rhythm and atmosphere are equally important.
Each track explores a different space within an imagined transit system. From fading radio signals and abandoned platforms to hidden conduits and unfinished broadcasts. There are no vocals, no obvious hooks and no traditional song structures. Instead, the album rewards patient listening, revealing new textures and details with every play.
The closing sequence dissolves back into static, completing a cycle that invites the listener to begin again.
Some transmissions are never lost. They simply wait for someone to tune in.
