Pike Dreams
“Pike Dreams” is not just an album - it is a journey through the chronicles of human existence in the last 2000 years, composed in sound.
Pike dreams are human lore.
A reflection on pivotal years in history, named in the Gregorian calendar, these are moments that shaped us through experience and reflection in later generations.
Through changing sound from single, nearly disintegrating synths to heavy, atmospheric drones and crushing doom, we explore the undercurrents of change in the quo vadimus of our species.
In the wake of an all time high in both consumerism and depression, we reject the shallow pursuit of pleasure and embrace the questions of longevity and decay - our consumption of time and time's consumption of ourselves.
As we rise against those in power, we kneel for the forgotten, and the oppressed, the nameless. This is not only music for escapists - it is music for an escapist rebellion, a revolution to claim back natural space, as natural and communal space. We leave the rust, disease and pain behind us to pressure those who embrace our suffering into what we have lost over thousands of years - nature, love, carnage and hope - and therefore change.
Pike Dreams is our eternal descent as we traded mammoth fur for plastic jackets and the bone flute for an 8x12 drone doom fullstack to turn the background noise into the focus of our attention.
Where uncomfortable realities linger, there is our homestead, where the irritation and brutal honesty live that shape our world, there we will lie down and bathe in the uncertainties that were created to frighten us into deliberately giving our bodies to the war machine.
This is not a dream - it is a reckoning of dreams.
The reckoning of dreams that came to life as heads ending on pikes.
Our heads.
