The Lost Widow
The Lost Widow - The title track to our EP is sort of our homage to If These Trees Could Talk, more specifically their Red Forest album. However, with any of our stuff we always like to put our own spin on things.
Reach - It’s an uplifting & inspiring atmospheric track. It’s basically a soundscape of guitars with lots of reverb that constantly builds up layers and gets bigger until the end. There is only a simple percussive beat at the end while still being able to make a huge impact. This one has huge influences from Hammock, 65 Days of Static, Explosions in the Sky, and This Will Destroy You.
Resting for Oblivion - A pure cinematic post-rock song. Melancholic guitar melodies with light drums to back it up. Inspired by the bands We Lost the Sea and Explosions in the Sky. This is one of Russ Weisenthal’s personal favorite tracks he has ever written due to it’s emotional connection.
Watching the World Fall Apart Together - One of the funnest and most experimental tracks we have ever done. This is a track that is inspired by Russian Circles. Also, it’s the longest track we have done. When the basic melodies of the track were put in place we had made a decision to leave space open to allow for guest features. The first person to come to mind was our label mate Atonalita, his violin work I had to have in it somehow. Also, Jason Keisling’s electronic vibey work I thought would fit in really well and make for a more than interesting track.
