THE GELS

5UV, Australia's first community radio station had only just changed its name to RADIO ADELAIDE, and migrated to the FM band, when the weekly LOCAL NOISE show asked THE GELS to come in and punch out a set, live-to-air.

The opportunity coincided with the release and launch of the I WANNA BE A RAMONE single (a tribute to mark the first anniversary of the passing of Joey Ramone), so it just made sense to utilize the airtime and spread the word to a few thousand listeners via the radio waves.
