Forest Białowieża

Forest Białowieża was inspired by the book The Extinction of Irena Rey, which takes place near the titular, real-life forest, one of the last truly wild places left in that part of the world. Entranced by the descriptions of the forest, and especially the webs of fungus and the cycles of life and death they represent, I dove deeper into it's ancient history. At the end I was left with nothing but questions about humanity and how we can live in harmony with the rest of nature, when we can't even live in harmony with ourselves. This is the song that came out of that journey.
