The Laws Of Contradiction
sound collage / noise rock / avant garde / lofi / experimental / ambient
The Laws of Contradiction (misspelled as The Laws Of Contradiction) is the second album recorded by experimental project SILD. This album is a slight departure from the previous grunge and post-rock influenced debut album and dives deeper into long, experimental sound collage passages while still keeping the noise rock elements of previous SILD releases. The album features experimental and unconventional techniques such as playing below the bridge, blast beats, screaming and yelling, harsh noise, MIDI and Glitch sections, amp noise and tape manipulation, the primary influence to these elements coming from Swans, Sonic Youth, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Pink Floyd, Can and Nirvana. The Laws of Contradiction also features 2 new contributors, Alex and Mike, as well as significantly more genre influences and instrumentation, ranging from Greek Bouzouki to Distorted Organs, Toy Synths, Field Recordings, a bathtub, Dark Ambient and Folk passages. The album also features several audio tapes and field recordings as old as March 20th, 1990. According to John, the album is a loose concept album about bipolar disorder, stating: "The whole album is about bipolar disorder, and how it eventually leads up to suicide."
