fight to keep from sinking

fight to keep from sinking is the follow-up to peejmudd's 2021 album when you find my body, call me by my name. Where that record dealt with the immediate aftermath of a dissociative break, this one reflects on the longer haul: chronic illness, mental and physical struggle, and what it looks like to keep going anyway.

Fourteen tracks of instrumental post-rock, ambient, and neo-classical music. Layers of strings, dark piano, textured ambience, and field recordings. Soaring and anthemic in places, quiet and contemplative in others. The album features a collaboration with They Danced Like Programmed Angels on "this day is ours," the lead single. Fans of Ólafur Arnalds, Sigur Rós, and M83 should feel at home here.

Released March 14, 2025 on Pichikin Recordings.
