Mentallo & The Fixer
No Rest For The Wicked: 30th Anniversary
Legendary electro‑industrial sibling duo Mentallo and The Fixer have announced the reissue of their debut album No Rest For The Wicked via Re:Mission Entertainment. Originally released in 1992, this edition features the original seven tracks remastered by JM Mastering. The digital version includes all twelve tracks from the original CD plus four additional songs from the 1991 Wreckage + Ruin + & + Regrests + [Redemption] GPC cassette tape.
Mentallo and The Fixer was born from the minds of brothers Gary and Dwayne Dassing in 1988. The duo began their career earlier by experimenting with traditional rock instruments such as guitar and drums, but shifted their focus to synthesizers and samplers with their first band Benestrophe alongside vocalist Richard Mendez. From that project came two tapes released via Ras Dva Records, Sensory Deprivation and Auric Fires. Mentallo and The Fixer formed soon after Benestrophe went dormant.
Their debut album No Rest For The Wicked was originally released on Portuguese label Simbiose Records, which also caught the attention of Zoth Ommog Records. Zoth Ommog went on to release the band’s next two albums, Revelations 23 and Where Angels Fear to Tread. The American duo then began a long-term partnership with Metropolis Records, who reissued their second and third albums and released a collection of unreleased material titled Continuum.
In the mid‑90s, the brothers launched a side project with Michael Greene (who later joined Mentallo and The Fixer on their first US tour) called Mainesthai. During this period they toured the US twice, toured Europe for the first time, released Burnt Beyond Recognition, and followed it with the EPs Centuries and False Prophets.
In 1999 the brothers split to pursue their own musical directions, with Gary continuing under the Mentallo and The Fixer name. He went on to release several albums including Algorythum, Love Is the Law, Return to Grimpen Ward, Vengeance Is Mine, Enlightenment Through a Chemical Catalyst, Music From the Eather, and the EP Systematik Ruin. After a break caused by a computer crash, he returned with the album Arrange the Molecule.
The reissue of their debut album No Rest For The Wicked is now being celebrated with a newly remastered edition released through Re:Mission Entertainment.
