Ephemeral Maps

Ephemeral Maps sonically extends the explorations of my previous release for Past Inside The Present sublabel Healing Sound Propagandist, 2021's Dreams In Digital Dust. The album continues this journey through rich textures and lush soundscapes, drawing inspiration from, among other things, J.G. Ballard’s novel, "The Drowned World" (1962).

The book's portrayal of intense heat and evolving underwater landscapes naturally complements the atmospheric, textured, and slowly morphing soundscapes that define Ephemeral Maps. As one reviewer of the book brilliantly put it, "The Drowned World explores the deep implications of time, space, psychology, and evolutionary biology, dismantling anthropocentric narratives and opening up alternative ways of experiencing and understanding contemporary human subjectivity."
