Invictus Hi-Fi
Doggerland Bones / Romulus Road
Following the success of his acclaimed debut album The Market Deities, British electronica artist Invictus Hi-Fi returns with a duo of soundtracks for lost and submerged histories.
First up is Doggerland Bones, taken from IHF’s forthcoming album The Vanishing, which delivers a barrage of frenetic tribal beats, pulverising bass and wandering horns, strings and flutes - as sonically subversive as it’s namesake is submerged.
On the digital flip side, Romulus Road fuses vintage keys with surging, fuzzed up acoustic guitars and wandering synths to deliver a track which is both powerful and memorable. Imagine if Terry Riley, Neutral Milk Hotel and Orbital joined forces for an evening - it might sound a bit like this.
