Screaming for Resurrection

A Grimoire of Pure 90s Black Metal Malice

In the early 1990s, while the global Black Metal underground was still a clandestine network of shadows, Funeral Winds was already distilling a pure and venomous form of Satanic art. Founded in 1991, the band carved out its own path of darkness, standing as a pillar of uncompromising intensity during the genre’s most vital years.

"Screaming for Resurrection" is a cold, calculated strike from the archives. It meticulously gathers the pivotal recordings from 1993 and 1994—a period that solidified the band’s reputation for relentless, razor-sharp riffing and an atmosphere of genuine occult dread. This compilation includes the legendary "Resurrection..." demo, the cult "Thy Eternal Flame" 7” EP, and the scathing split tracks with the Japanese masters Abigail.

While many of their contemporaries from the second wave drifted into experimentation or melody, Funeral Winds remained anchored in the raw, aggressive essence of the craft. These recordings have been remastered in 2021 to provide a lethal clarity while preserving the grim, nocturnal aesthetic that made these tracks essential to the underground trade.

For those who demand Black Metal devoid of trends and steeped in ancient hatred, Screaming for Resurrection is a mandatory testament. It is the sound of an era defined by blood and iron—hateful, raw, and eternally Satanic.
