Frog
God Once Loved a Woman

A fan-favourite single from 2018's 'Whatever We Probably Already Had It' (https://heyitsfrog.bandcamp.com/album/whatever-we-probably-already-had-it).

Frog are a band from New York, described as everything from “Indie Rock” to “Americana” and “Alt-Country” to “Fifth Wave Emo.” Frog debuted in 2012 with their beautiful and bizarre self-titled record before finding broader acclaim (including from David Berman) with 2015’s classic ‘Kind of Blah‘ LP, and its follow ups ‘Whatever We Probably Already Had It‘ and ‘Count Bateman.’ After a four-plus year hiatus, Frog returned in November 2023 with ‘GROG‘ which was praised by Pitchfork, Stereogum, Bandcamp Daily, BBC Radio Scotland and KCRW, while being the top debut for the North American College & Community Radio Chart. Their award-winning ‘Kings of Blah‘ documentary is also available now.

Praise for Frog:

“Daniel’s humdrum American portraiture and embodiment of passionate persistence have defined Frog’s sound for nearly a decade, and on Grog, a brotherly bond encourages those songwriting traits to get louder, bolder, and weirder without sacrificing any of the heart.” – PITCHFORK

“…A distinct, off-kilter personality that’s just slightly off in the best way possible. The end results are riveting—or should I say ribbeting?” – BANDCAMP DAILY

“Remarkable…a gritty, idiosyncratic vignette of the city…” – STEREOGUM

“If there’s a central thesis to GROG, it’s that all boundaries of time, space, and sound are arbitrary: everything and everyone is just a little ugly, and they’re wonderful for it. By that same measure, GROG is a little ugly but also quite wonderful.” – RANTIPOLE

“…Straddles the line between hearty Americana, barren indie rock, and low-key emo. That sound continues on Grog, where Frog sing stories of dead-end detectives and fateful love that give your heart a soft punch.” – PITCHFORK (“9 New Albums You Should LIsten to Now”)
