Leaving My Body (2019) is a spectral electronic meditation where sound becomes both weapon and escape hatch. Drawing on the chilly, minimal pulse of The Knife and the fragile experimentation of Björk, Omar Pitras Waqar (aka EVILARTFORM) builds a landscape of TR-808 beats, ghostly synths, and layered vocals that flicker between intimacy and detachment. The song’s refrain of “leaving my body” is more than metaphor — it’s a yearning to transcend trauma, dismantle binaries, and reimagine the self beyond flesh. Waqar’s male voice trembles at the threshold of gender, queering its edges while questioning why expression is still measured against systems of oppression.The track holds space for a future where identity can be fluid, memory can be shed, and freedom means becoming more than human.
