Bare III
About Bare III :
At a point marking so much loss and devastation, to the everyday person as well as any musician, this ability to outlast becomes a point of contention within the discourse of Man and, with many other themes, within Bare III. Where my 2019 LP Bare II was a colorful assemblage of sci-fi- influenced experiments meant to build upon the prior two EPs Bare I and Agua Verde, Bare III is a shorter but more carefully-crafted meditation on death.
This is not to say this record is meant to be a deconstruction of modern electronic genres. I’ve always had my affinity for contemporary Dance music as well as my own love for late 90s/early 2000s sonics so this is my most recent attempt at bringing together all that I love, not attempting to push the envelope. Bare III doubles as a quiet love letter to many records from 20 years ago that continue to influence my listening today: 100th Window by Massive Attack, Geogaddi by Boards of Canada, Deftones’ self-titled album and many of the records released by Raster Noton.
