Safe As Milk

This is a cover version of a song by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, which confusingly does NOT appear on the album titled "Safe As Milk." Instead it's the second song on Beefheart's second album titled "Strictly Personal."

Though Beefheart fans are divided on the merits of Bob Krasnow's acid-influenced production (some of which I pay tribute to here), there's no denying the great songs contained on that album, and this is my third cover version from this batch of songs.

Because I love this track so much, I tried very hard to recreate everything about it, both the released version and the later outtakes. I sing and play all guitars, bass and drums. I've also added piano and synth bass parts to make the song sound more like my own recent music.
