Night of The Living Martyr Statue
Built from a simple drum loop, this somewhat bloated orchestral track plays around with a few basic themes before filling with storm clouds and audio drama. As the tension mounts, The guitars and keyboards play the first melody I ever wrote on electric guitar way back in 1970 (it can be heard between 2:51 and 3:27). The inspiration for a haunted martyr statue comes from the legend of St. Denis, who continued preaching for a full twenty minutes after having his head chopped off, carrying it with him until he toppled over dead.
