Find Dead Voices On Air

For nearly four decades, Dead Voices on Air has worked at the outer edges of music, moving through industrial decay, ambient abstraction, dissociative spoken word, and emotional dissonance without compromise. Now founder Mark Spybey returns with Mothcomma, the project’s newest release.

Set for worldwide release through Re:Mission Entertainment on Friday, July 17th, 2026, Mothcomma came together in the aftermath of the project’s 2025 US tour. Recording started almost immediately, split between studios and remote sessions in the Tees Valley in North East England and Lafayette, Colorado. The result is a transatlantic album shaped by geography, memory, improvisation, and instinct.
Guided by Spybey’s longstanding commitment to experimentation and honest creative expression, Mothcomma doesn’t sit inside genre lines so much as move past them. The album shifts between shadowed song structures, ambient terrain, fractured rhythms, and spectral atmospheres that feel both intimate and alien.

From the cinematic descent of “Pas de Chasse” to the luminous ascent of the title track “Mothcomma,” from the dense undergrowth of “Eye Exhaust” to the tension running through “For the Rush of Black Tar,” the album plays out as one continuous journey, equal parts meditation, confrontation, and transmission.

Rather than revisiting past forms, Mothcomma marks another step forward for Dead Voices on Air, rooted in the project’s history but still looking ahead.
