The album opens with “Bathing in Shadows”, immediately setting a nocturnal, liminal tone — a plunge into darkness or perhaps the in-between space where souls hover. “La Mentation” and “Nibo” (tracked second and third) feel like stages in a descent — mental dissolution, ego dissolution, or a transformation. The title track “Psychopomp” sits at the center, evoking the ancient myth of a soul-guide (a psychopomp escorts souls to the afterlife), giving the record an arc of passage: from shadows → dissolution → guiding force. Then “Transyuggothian Gnosis” closes the album with a whisper of occult revelation and cosmic horror — a sense of crossing thresholds, merging inner chaos with outer darkness.
