Calcushac

After a prolonged period of sparse single-track releases in search of a musical space to feel comfortable in, Calcushac returns with their first album release.

This instrumental recording tries to sonically capture some of the themes and feelings that seemed overly prevalent during the time making it - aging and the sometimes rapid physical degradation that comes with it as well as a certain sense of fragility. Paired with rare moments of aggressive or even playful defiance but also of disconnect and isolation, evoking a sensation not unlike floating in the vacuum of space somewhere far away, moving but stranded - all this seems to be what this album is aiming at.

A collection of fractured beats and textured pads with only faint hints of waning melodies on a raw and crunchy surface, with IDM and an ambient adjacent atmosphere as its language.
