Art's Birthday 2026 - Made For Hollow Earth Radio
Alongside several tremendous artists I was asked by DJ Bleek (Urban Mutant) to contribute an hour of sound art as part of a 24 hour celebration of Art's Birthday. Fluxus artist Robert Filliou first proposed that 17th Jan was the millionth birthday of art in 1963. It was first publicly celebrated a decade later.
I made four new pieces for this project fairly rapidly, completed alternative mixes of a couple of tracks from my two previous releases 'The Visitation Plays' and 'US Nadir', and also recorded live versions at home of several existing and a couple of upcoming tracks. The result is an organically flowing mixtape which also interpolates some found sound from sources as such as 'The Servant; (1963), Alan Bennett's 'A Lady of Letters' and Tim & Eric's 'Zone Theory'.
As usual this was all made on Ableton on a cheap laptop in my living room in E London with my small dog Bruce in attendance.
