The Interpretation of Indiepop Cultures (EP)
twee pop / twee / jangle pop / indie pop
The Interpretation Cultures is an Indiepop band from Makassar, Indonesia. with an easy, sweet, and hazy feel. The band was formed in high school, by covering Indonesian Pop Songs in early 2010s, the band with spirit of making their own songs (DIY). with personnel who are busy with their respective jobs, Fadhli Rafq by himself continues this project until now.
It started off by listening to a compilation by The Kids at the Club: An Indiepop Compilation (2006) and some compilations from Sarah Records. Inspired by Stephin Merritt's projects, The Shop Assistants, Beat Happening, and the indiepop band scene of the 80s into the 90s.The name of this project is taken from one of the books in the 70s by American anthropologist Clifford Geertz, which presents a new perspective on how to learn and understand culture.
Their debut single, The Molly Pop Song and two covers then follow, were released by Chaotic Pop Records, an Indie Record Label Based in Tangerang, Indonesia, before Subjangle begged Eko Sutrisno who runs the label to let us collaborate with him on CD release !
By completing previously unrecorded material, Fadhli Rafq single-handedly completed material, and thus came their debut EP "The Interpretation of Indiepop Cultures"
