Read MorePlease introduce yourself and share a bit about your background.
DJ/producer for 20 years, focused mainly on deep, tech, minimal house. Also host my local events with international guests in Miami.
Tell us a bit about yourself. (Location, artist name, the works!)
Miami based Adam Bogdan, transplanted 10 years ago from Romania. Birth around early 80's sometime :)
What's your musical origin story? (when did you start? What inspired you?)
Dad had a huge music collection, I remember myself at 3-4 years old changing records on the turntable.
What were the driving forces or pivotal moments that inspired you to pursue music?
Probably always wanted to do that, started playing in middle school at proms when everybody told me to do it knowing my musical culture. Played a lot of Depeche in those days :)
How would you describe your style of music?
Electronic for sure, there's always some groove to my style, dance oriented I guess. Pivoting between house, tech house, deep house and sometimes more minimal.
How is your personality reflected in your work?
People always feel my openness, my wide views and the good vibes and grooves that I try to bring. I know my purpose is to give them something to groove and dance to, enjoy, feel good for a night.
Describe your creative process when you write new music.
I'll usually start a bit on the piano, for the basslines, try to adapt the kick to it and then the endless percussion search, some vocals here and there, clean drops, trying to restrain my fx appetite :)
What is the name of your latest releases?
ImProv EP [CATREN_DIG03] available in late Feb this year. Very proud of this and the label that I'm collaborating with.
What was the inspiration for that release?
Full time babysitting for my 3 year old :) noises, sounds, voices, reverbs and melodies.
What challenges or unexpected moments did you encounter during the writing/recording process?
Always finding something challenging in the mix/master process. My background is also as a sound technician, I became a bit too a perfectionist in time regarding the sound, levels, eq etc.
What strategies do you find most effective for promoting your music?
I guess a combination of playing live, social media of course, trying to build a real fanbase, no shortcuts.
How do you engage with your fans online and offline?
Online is Insta and Meta mainly. Offline, at my events I try to spend some time with as many people as possible and try to get their input.
What upcoming promotional activities or releases are you most excited about?
Well, I'll try to get my upcoming EP to as many listeners as possible, to understand their opinions about it and learn for my next projects.
How can folks contact you (socials/email/websites etc.)
Is there anything else of interest that we should have asked about? Please include it here.
