Career Day

Career Day, based out of Queens, NY, is self-described as "Emo-Punk for the End-Times." Formed largely during the 2020 pandemic, the band has crafted a sound influenced by the poppy anthemic hooks of blink-182 and The Starting Line, the midwest emo of Motion City Soundtrack and Braid, and the sociopolitical commentary of Bad Religion and Thursday. Whereas most bands of the genre are either apolitical or cursory in their involvement of world issues into their music, Career Day's songs dive headfirst into matters of racism, state violence, and imperialism, seeking to trojan horse dense, heavy subject matter into familiar, accessible sounds, making songs that are equally engaging melodically as they are thematically.
