Superdestroyer
Nelson Comes To Visit

On his latest LP Nelson Comes To Visit Superdestroyer continues to play within the poppy, sonically sticky spaces that exist in his unique sound with the help of electronic producer and labelmate Leave Nelson B. The result is an album effectual in its utilization of pop elements while showcasing its creators’ niche musical proclivities and unique approaches. The two artists describe the album as “SEGAPUNK”, which refracts nostalgia through a fresh amalgamation of 80s pop, 90s RnB and alternative rock, FM Synthesis (Sega Genesis music), Chiptune, Nu metal, post-hardcore, and downtempo electronica. They came up with the name due to their use of a Sonicware Mega Synthesis synthesizer, which has 3 FM Synthesis channels (the same used to create Sega Genesis music) as well as 2 chiptune channels and a sample bank of video game drums from the Genesis era, which played a large part on the video game aesthetics of the albums’ sound and art.

NCTV tells the story of 2 NPCs who fall in love and experience an intense deja vu that grows into a full awareness they reside within a video game. They decide that if their fate is eternal return, they will take control of their own destinies to ensure their infinite time loop is one they want to relive together for eternity.
