Since 1983 IOS has created uneasy music that is dense and dystopian and yet also beautiful. The first release for their 40th anniversary, Organ Choir Drone is a return to form. Seven strong pieces of electronic music, that grow and develop with long-form drones, piercing electronics, field recordings, radio waves and static, modular synthesis, the crackling of contact microphones, at times neatly noise-based and at other times poetically quiet all in a beautifully crafted collage-styled music.
