Stockholm Syndrome
We recorded this in a renovated barn studio on Sauvie Island in Portland. The lyrics deal with themes of the surveillance state of fear, predatory pedophilic religious institutions, unmanned aerial drone warcraft and its implications on civilian populations, and our nation's inhumane treatment of our neighbors to the south. I wrote this song when I was working as a freight train conductor for Union Pacific Railroad during which time it was common practice for management to spy on us using aerial drones. It is our hope that this song leads the listener to question the systems of power that wield control over all of us without any regard for humanity. Let us awake from our collective stupor in which we consistently confuse the true meanings of freedom and compassion.
lyrics
You're looking down on a town full of new ideas
Drowned in the clouds on the cliff of your what-if fears
The sounds of the lives you can spare- they're reaching your ears
But you're too proud to care, too bitter to cry any tears
And the bells are ringing as the evening starts to glow
Still the sparrow sings as the arrow's shot...from the bow!
Feel at home in your Stockholm Syndrome
Feel free under lock and key
Kneel before the drone controllers
Real-time Security
You're looking up at the steeple through the broken rafters
Falling down on the people now and forever after
And the rearview mirror's all been shattered
The closer objects appear the easier we're captured
Feel at home in your Stockholm Syndrome
Feel free under lock and key
Kneel Before the drone controllers
Real-time Security
