Brody and the Grodies
Mistakes Were Mad

Brody and the Grodies are the worst. Plus they still can’t spell. Unfortunately, the band that one Razorcake reviewer called “absolutely f***in’ ridiculous” is back with a new EP for 2025, titled Mistakes Were Mad. It’s an eight-track EP loaded up with lofi garage punk that sounds like it was played through a blown-out speaker. These songs have faster tempos and shorter running times than last year’s release (Went to the Bar) but the Grodies’ so-called humor remains on display with songs about mutants, aliens, and sewer clogs. The opener is a cover of The Spits’ “Let Us Play Your Party” which will convince listeners to do otherwise. Later on there’s an unhinged track, “Little Green Men,” where singer Brody Grody laments: “gotta gotta get ‘em out of my hair.” The weirdness includes album art that makes an homage to Dr. Strangelove. With this new release, the band that only formed to get free beer adds another ridiculous chapter.
