What is your artist's name?
Cyber Monday / Cyber Friday. Cyber Monday for my Synthpop Synthwave material and Cyber Friday for my EDM music.
How long have you been writing music?
I have been making music since I was around eight years old and writing ever since, so it's been over 30 years.
What inspired you to start playing and making music?
There was an electronic organ and a piano in my family home, so having the tools always there was great. Plus, when my parents realized I had talent, they got me a synthesizer.
How would you describe your style of music?
80's Electronic pop, my vocals are in the style of The Human League and Depeche Mode.
How is your personality reflected in your work?
My last album, released earlier this year, was titled Store Self. I had done many cover and guest vocal albums and decided to return to my roots and write a more personable album.
Describe your creative process when you write new music.
If I'm writing for guest vocals, I start with the vocal on its own. If it's my original material, I typically start with a melody and go from there.
What is the name of your latest releases?
In terms of albums, I have completed and released. 3 Synthpop albums - Store Credit, Store Debit, Store Self 4 Synthwave albums - Day Wave, Night Wave, Retro Lift, Retro Fall 5 Cover Albums and 1 compilation album - Retro Spective
What was the inspiration for that release?
My 'Store Self' album was inspired by what was in my head at the time. Quite often, my lyrics come from my subconscious. Typically the music stems from a demo I recorded on my phone that I have revisited sometimes years later.
Can you tell us any "behind the scenes" stories about writing or producing this release?
This album covers tracks I started in 1998 through to the present day. So to me, it's more like a compilation album but for fans, they are listening to these tracks for the first time.
What do you do to promote your music?
I am privileged to be signed to an independent label known as Pink Dolphin Music, which has supported me every step of the way. I do self-promotion via social media, but it is tiresome compared to writing music.
What are you currently working on?
I am working on a Side B for my Store Self album featuring different track versions, demos, etc.
How can folks get in contact with you?
I have just launched my website www.cybermondaymusic.com
Is there anything else of interest that we neglected to ask about?
