Kevin Shea is an American jazz drummer in improvisation and experimental music. He attended Berklee College of Music. Shea has played in the avant-garde band Storm & Stress with whom he recorded Storm and Stress (produced by Steve Albini) in 1997 and Under Thunder & Fluorescent Lights (produced by Jim O'Rourke) in 2000. He has also played in the band Coptic Light. The Village Voice named him best drummer of 2012. He has played with Micah Gaugh, Ian Williams, Daniel Carter, Mary Halvorson, Peter Evans, Mike Pride, and Matt Mottel. He is a member of the bands Talibam!, People, Moppa Elliott's Mostly Other People Do the Killing, Puttin' on the Ritz, and Sexy Thoughts. ---- Michael Eaton (b. 1981) is a Brooklyn, NY based saxophonist, composer, and educator active in contemporary jazz and free improvisation. He embraces a progressive and holistic vision of jazz, cognizant of the music's rich history, while he reaches for a personal outlook with an eye towards future possibilities. Michael leads Individuation, a contemporary jazz ensemble that combines modern jazz with postminimalism, world rhythms, electronics, and open improvisation. The group's latest recording, The Phenomenal, was released on Mother Brain Records on July 5, 2024. The music pairs the quartet with three special guests: Tim Hagans (trumpet), Dave Scott (trumpet), and Judi Silvano (voice). Historically, the recording is the first studio encounter of Scott and Hagans. The Phenomenal was financed in part by a New York Foundation of the Arts grant through the City Artist Corp. ---- Max Kutner is a guitarist/composer currently based in Brookyln, NY. Max has previously performed and/or recorded with the Magic Band (Captain Beefheart), Henry Kaiser, Mike Keneally, Sofia Gubaidulina, Ulrich Krieger, Alphonso Johnson, Don Preston, Lili Haydn, Oingo Boingo and many others.
