They may not always translate into more sales - but you are in all those peoples collections and they are all on your messaging list for notifications about future releases etc. We regard it as an investment for the future - to build up your list of followers and raise awareness of what you do. Chuck (who interfaces with the artists) is a really nice guy and will always try to accommodate any requests you have for promotions and new merchandise releases etc. He has done loads for us and his intervention often results in increased plays on our Bandcamp page. The news of the offer of promoting free downloads at no cost is a godsend to struggling bands and is an excellent idea I our opinion - it means we can now afford to offer free downloads of “singles” to promote upcoming releases.
